Association Subsidies and Grants

Grants for Sports, Youth and Culture

The municipality awards grants annually to support the activities of sports, youth and cultural associations. Grants are generally awarded to registered societies and clubs. When allocating organisational grants, emphasis is placed on local participation. The award process takes account of the number and frequency of events and activities organised by the association.

Grants are announced in the local newspaper, municipal website and civic bulletin board during February-March. When applying for a grant, a separate application form must be used - please follow the instructions given carefully.

Sport and Youth activity grants are primarily intended for groups targetting people under 18 years of age. When awarding grants, secondary consideration will focus on activities for people aged 18+. Support grants for cultural activities are awarded regardless of ages involved.

Grants for Village Activities

The municipality also annually assists village associations, some volunteer fire brigade units (VPK's) and communities that maintain village activities. It is the intention that the municipality's support for each village is limited to one community group only, even if there are more groups present - the grant is, by its very nature, a general allowance intended to cover or support the activities of maintaining the coexistence of the village community. Groups responsible for maintaining public or association swimming pools will receive separate compensation.

Grants are announced in the local newspaper, municipal website and civic bulletin board during March-April . When applying for a grant, a separate application form must be used - please follow the instructions given carefully.
